Wormhough Site Rules

1. On site speed limit strictly 10 mph

2. Pedestrians always have the right of way, especially when a vehicle crosses a public footpath.

3. Trials start at 10am sharp, all competitors registered by 9.30am, 8.30am to 9.45am scrutineering.

4. Any competitor not signed on by 9.30 will not compete as office will be closed.

5. Spectators must stand well clear of the sections & follow marshal’s instructions as to a safe place to watch.

6. Any questions, ask a marshal or clerk of the course, they always have an answer.

7. No smoking in or around vehicles.

8. All refuelling to be done at the clearly marked on site fuelling point.

9. Every practicable precaution must be taken to avoid depositing mud or soil onto the public highway or driveway of the particular venue when leaving.

 

Wormhough Club Rules

1. General vehicle condition to be tidy, no sharp edges or parts hanging off.

2. All vehicles to have adequate brakes, both footbrake & handbrake with working ratchet.

3. Vehicle steering free from excess play in ball joints, track rod ends & column, all steering components securely mounted.

4. Minimum 3 point seat belts or 4 point harnesses,( no inertia type belt allowed) to be fitted correctly & mounted securely in accordance with MSA regulations K 2.1 –K 2.1.10 also look at illustration FIA 253-42. No frays or cuts. Belts to be worn at all times, even between sections.

5. Stop light & horn fitted & working.

6. Secure battery.

7. Secure seat or seats.

8. Fuel tank if modified must have all fuel connections soldered, brazed, welded, threaded or quick release, with rubber fuel pipe securely clipped, secure fuel cap with seal.

9. No dumper tyres, open tread permitted this season as a trial period only (straight line across tread)

10. Fire extinguisher securely mounted & accessible (dry powder prohibited)

11. Adequate tow rope for vehicle to be recovered, no kinetic type ropes allowed.

12. Marked tow points front & rear & if using a tow ball it is recommended that an over loop is fitted, to stop possible detachment during recovery.

13. No loose objects inside vehicle, all equipment securely mounted.

14. Spare wheel & means to change it, spare wheel does not have to be carried in vehicle.

15. External battery cut off switch, to isolate vehicle electrics. (Vehicles running electronic control units it is advisable to isolate the positive feed from battery)

 

Modified class only

16. A roll cage must be fitted in accordance with the MSA blue book 2010, illustrations 36 & 6a. If building a cage from new then illustration 36 meets the AWDC spec, these are the minimum required to compete in the Wormhough Trial Championship 2010. All mounting points should be to the chassis (In some instances this may not be possible, if in doubt contact our chief scrutineer who will duly advise)

17. Crash helmet optional.

18. Classes:

1. Buggy class, (wheelbase 81 – 100 inches)  Any vehicle 1 or 2 seats, fitted with either front or rear diff locks, fiddle brakes, 4 wheel steering or open tread  type tyres. 

2. Short Wheel Base, Any vehicle 1 or 2 seats with a wheelbase of 81 – 86 inches, with no fiddle brakes, front or rear diff locks or 4 wheel steering.

3. Long Wheel Base, Any vehicle 1 or 2 seats with a wheelbase of 87 – 100 inches, with no fiddle brakes, front or rear diff locks or 4 wheel steering.

 

Wormhough Club Trial Rules

1. No smoking in or around a competing vehicle.

2. All sections started from gate 10, no run up allowed.

3. All gates driven from 10 to 1.

4. Any recovered vehicle must be supervised by a nominated official.

5. Long wheel base vehicles (87 - 100 inch) will be allowed a shunt where lock is the only problem; this must be clearly indicated before starting the section.

6. Competitors hands, arms & head must remain inside the vehicle at all times.

7. The marshal’s decision is final.
